Got here early to pick up a new toilet seat and fertilizer - about 730am-ish - and to check out the herbs. Plenty of parking at that hour, I found a spot right up front. Happy to find the Kohler elongated seat had had a price drop of 5 clams (that's a gallon of petrol right there)! Found a 4lb bag of Dr. Earth Flower Girl for 11 and a wee 4in English Lavender for 4. Eagerly wheeled up to pay for my finds and I get cashier Daisy who seems unhappy to be there. She rings me up and then stands there as if waiting for something. I stare back, waiting for her to tell me my total. She must've sensed the awkwardness because she started looking around the store as if bored. Wanting to complete my transaction before Christmas, I asked her what the total was. After what seemed like a full minute, her lips moved but no sound came out. Pardon me? Could you please speak up over the sound of the loudspeaker, the exit door not three feet away opening and closing to people in and out, the neighboring cashiers and customers chatting around us? No? How about angling the register display so I can get some idea of what I'm expected to pay? Oh the latter took some effort but you somehow managed to do it in under five minutes, bravo. As I'm putting my card back in my wallet, she's greeting the next customer. Wait, you mean you don't bag my items anymore or put them in my cart? Oh, you're going to just let them sit on the checkout counter while you wait for me to do all that. Silly me! Why didn't I just ring myself up and save us both the trouble? Would've given Home Depot 5 stars except for this impressive display of bad customer service. I have to say, I've been shopping at this store since the 90s and it's usually been a good experience.
Milagros! I had the best service ever, thanks to Priscilla, she is the best! My visits at this HD typically don't go well. But Priscilla did her best to help and I made a major purchase because I knew no other retail outlet was going to be as accommodating and informative as she was. Today turned out to be a good Day!!!
All five employees that I spoke with did not know what a composter was. Eventually, after much wandering around, I found out that this Home Depot does not have composters at all. I guess there are not many ecologically minded people in the San Gabriel Valley. This is truly a pity.
